I got tired of looking at pace charts, so I built runningconverter.com to help quickly convert between common pace units and race times.

When I built it, Google wasn’t handling pace conversion queries yet, which made me irritated enough to try and make something myself. Even now, I prefer my own tool since it helps me brainstorm race timings very quickly. As far as I can tell, the only other user is my physical therapist.

I tried to keep things very simple: Just some good ol’, AI-generated Javascript and HTML with some tiny CSS from Tailwind. As a result, the page gets a whopping 99/100 by PageSpeed Insights.

This was my first experience of going 0-to-1 with AI coding. Going from idea to a published tool on a .com domain took about an hour and a half in total, thanks to Claude and Cloudflare Pages.
